I was bored. I was lazy. I didn’t want to write on this blog anymore. I already got 3 new ones I’m focusing my energies on. But a tag meme got me and forced me to make a decision fast: to write or not to write? If I don’t, somebody will be hurt I didn’t give a moment to reflect on those 15 lousy unknown factoids, fantasies and secrets I have. Yeah, that’s right. L.U.F.F.S. So here we go…
15 Lousy Unknown Factoids, Fantasies and Secrets
1. I am attracted to the Dark Side. Oh yes, the dark side. I’m not talking devil worshipping, but the darkness in the human heart. I used to think I could be a forensic psychologist, profiling psycho-killers on the loose. I watched shows like “The Profiler” and read the Alex Cross books by James Patterson.
When I watch movies I prefer the psycho thrillers over the romantic ones. I like films with more characterization than special effects. I’d rather explore the nooks and crannies of the human soul, than see blood and gore.
2. I am a book lover. I have my own little library at home. I can’t sleep without a book beside my pillow. I can’t stop my self from spending money on books. I buy them from slightly used to the newest ones. I have bought them from garage sales, sidewalk stores, used books shops, local bookstores, and online. In fact, I’d rather read than watch TV or a movie. I’d rather stay at home reading than go out with friends dancing and drinking. That is how crazy I am with books.
3. I love the smell of ink. Not the ink used for ballpens or for painting, but printer’s ink. The one used for printing magazines, books and even test papers. Everytime I smell ink I feel relaxed and at home. It’s because while growing up I used to smell ink from our neighbor’s printing press. They publish a local magazine called YUHUM, which means SMILE in our local dialect (Hiligaynon).
4. I crave for the taste of durian now and then. I fell in love with durian when I was in Davao. I couldn’t bring a fresh durian fruit because of its smell. But I found a coffee shop here in Iloilo that serves a durian smoothie and a durian cake with candied durian in them. Whenever I have extra money I always get Durian Desire from Coffee Break. Hmm! Yummy!
5. You can bribe me with blueberry cheesecake, or fresh strawberries with cream, which ever is available. These are my guilty pleasures. The ones I knew I should avoid but couldn’t because they are just… so… damn… goooood.
6. I like hugs, kisses, cuddles and more… from a puppy! I love dogs. And I hate cats. I love the way dogs just love you and worship you. They are so adorable! I hate how cats can be aloof and distant. Cats don’t obey their masters well. My mom has 2 cats and I hate those two. I once kicked the orange tabby. Now it runs away everytime it sees me coming. Hehehe…
7. Surprises don’t work for me. If you want to surprise me, don’t. I’d hate it. I’d hate not being able to prepare for it. I’d hate how it will interfere with my own laid plans for the day. So just don’t surprise me.
8. I’m an emo, as in truly emotional. I still feel angst even when I’m in my 30s. I feel depressed now and then. I cry, I rage, I yearn… sometimes I let it out through writing. I write short stories and poetry. But I don’t keep them because they are too personal. I don’t want anyone to see me as I am. I want to be invisible.
9. I think a lot; I think anywhere, anytime. Thoughts and ideas flow without end in my mind. Even when I sleep it doesn’t stop. When I have a problem nagging me I sleep and when I wake up I have the solution figured out. I believe my best asset is my brain. I can analyze and be creative with it. I can think up stories and figure out mysteries just by using the powers of my mind. I know I am intelligent but I also know I haven’t learned anything of consequence to the world. Whatever I learned, it’s enough to help me survive life and my job.
10. I love puzzles and riddles. I do play video games once in a while, but I’d rather entertain myself with puzzles and riddles, than play DoTA with friends. I especially like logical puzzles and online riddles. I also like word puzzles. I used to solve the Sunday crossword diligently. But now I have turned to Sudoku. It’s more gratifying.
11. I love to go bargain hunting for clothes, accessories, makeup, shoes and other girly stuff. I like wearing dresses and skirts, tight shirts, and pants, and a pair of really nice shoes. If I had money to spend I’d fill a large closet with clothes, shoes and handbags. I’d be buying bracelets and matching necklaces.
12. I don’t have pierced ears. The doctor forgot to pierce my ears when I was a baby. When I grew up I tried to have them pierced twice, but I only developed infections from both times. I never tried to have them pierced again. Now I can’t wear earrings. My ear lobes are so sensitive they hurt when I use clip earrings on them.
13. I am short sighted. I can’t see well when objects or people are too far. Sometimes I can’t recognize people I know when they are 5 meters from me. I have to come nearer to see faces clearly. I used to wear a pair of graded glasses, but I stopped because they hurt my nose and I didn’t like how the frames break my field of vision. Lately I am considering having a frameless pair made, or maybe use contact lenses instead. I will have to consult an opthalmologist soon. I’m sure my eyeglasses’ grades have gone up.
14. I have a secret fascination with sexy underwear. Red silk and lace or white cotton panties, it doesn’t matter. I like wearing sexy underwear. I want to wear a corset. I want to wear a girdle and dark stockings. I want to put on sheer teddies and thin negligees. In fact, I’d rather sleep naked when it’s hot.
15. I don’t trust anyone easily. I have big trust issues. So whatever you just read here are just the tip of the iceberg. You haven’t explored who I am yet. I guess you never will.

They can be mannerisms, favorite things, a piece of personal history, fears, loves, hates, whatnots… anything that you want to share with the rest of the world. James Patterson! it’s true. he’s one twisted but impossibly talented writer. i remember reading one of his Alex Cross novels while aboard the MRT – jeez, literally hair-raising. Kahit na maraming tao sa MRT, parang mag-isa pa rin ako. katakot talaga. haha.
