Being Real and True To Yourself

So what does it take to face the facts and accept the truth? How does one become “real” in the sense that inhibitions are forsaken and only what is being experienced is acknowledged? This is authenticity, becoming real with who you are and what you wanted in life.

I’ve come across many references to “being real“. Mostly from hiphop songs. I have also come across this comment from one of my ex-bf’s friends in Friendster: Nothing lasts forever, so live it up, drink it down, laugh it off, avoid the bullshit, take chances, and never have regrets because at one point everything you did was exactly what you wanted.

Yes, that’s exactly how I’d do it. Life is short and we’ll all die in the end. Why not enjoy the ride while it lasts? We love, we hate, we fuck and we kill. But what matters most is to live life to the fullest.

Don’t be afraid to say what you believe in and doing what you enjoy. Accept who you are, emphasize what you wanted and reach for your dreams. Society can only dictate so much of what we should and should not do. But in the end, it is us who should decide what’s good for us and what will make us happy. No matter what society will say, choose the path that will bring you closer to your life goals.

Meanwhile here is a song by Lori Brainard, a country singer, that tells of making a decision to end a relationship and starting a new life.

yeah… have listen to the song. it’s good and meaningful but not my genre. hehehe, r&b is still the best.

being real is tough. it’s a process of seeing the bigger picture of you in the real world “No matter what society will say”

    Hi Ms Claire,

From the moment that we met, your individuality and cool has been strikingly refreshing. It’s not everyday that I meet really interesting people and you are one.

Being a slave of the norms that society has founded will ultimately lead to a life that is void of ‘real’ essences.. colorless, lifeless.. as if you are faking it each and every time.

    :)
