Social Attitude Test

Social Attitude Test
Courtesy of the Children of Millennium

Your scores:
Radicalism: 53 percent
Tenderness: 57.5 percent
Socialism: 54 percent

These scores indicate that you are a moderate; this is the political profile one might associate with a regular person. It appears that you are neutral towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.

To round out the picture, your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a political centrist.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting.

About the test

Unlike many other political tests found on the Internet which base themselves on untested (and usually ideologically motivated) ideas, this inventory is adapted from Hans Eysenck’s own political inventory which was developed after extensive empirical investigations in the 20th Century. Eysenck found that, although individual opinions vary, they tend to cluster in specific ways:

Firstly, social opinions tend to fall predictably along a conservative/radical axis, which will be recognized by most people as the right-wing vs left-wing political axis.

Secondly, attitudes vary along a tough/tender axis, which appears to distinguish between realistic and pragmatic vs idealistic and trusting individuals.

Thirdly, Eysenck found that economic opinions also cluster along a socialist/capitalist axis, which exposes a sympathies towards big business and the wealthy vs. sympathies towards governmental intervention and the poor.

Although less research has investigated the socialist/capitalist dimension of political values, a large body of research has accumulated regarding the tough/tender and conservative/radical dimensions. Tough-minded conservatives are described as militaristic and authoritarian, favoring harsh punishment and opposing minorities, while tough-minded radicals are individualistic and secularist, supporting sexual freedom and believing in evolution. On the tender side, tender-minded conservatives were found to be religious and moralistic, supporting censorship and belief in God, while tender-minded radicals are described as pacifistic humanitarians who support racial equality and are more likely to claim to be vegetarians.
