I’m not sure when the video tape was made. It has been floating around the web for some time. A lot of those who saw the tape said it looked fake, but when I watched the video, I was really scared.
The bloody and scarred face of Teresa only appeared at the end of the video when all three have realized that their mysterious passenger is, in fact, a ghost.
I’ve also researched into the Sintra ghost but there were few factual resources available. Internet research produces links to the same video.
I only saw this movie a few days ago, my family on my father’s side is portuguese, i couldn’t understand all that was said, but when i got my father to translate it, it really scared me. The fact that she didn’t reply to them when they offered water or asked what was wrong, made me think that it was as if she was not there to have a lift, but to explain what happend to her, what i would like to know is: does she have any alive family members? and if so did they see the video?
hello. i am portuguese. this accident really happened in 1983 but had nothing to do with ghosts. This is just a short film made by a young portuguese guy named david rebordão and was made in 2003. In one of the versions of the movie there is a text in the beggining that the other guy and the girl died. but some time ago David said that this was just a fake short film made to call people’s attention. Teresa Fidalgo really died, and some people say that her great-great-grandmother suicided in the place where the accident happened. Uh…sorry to break this to you, but the only reason this went public is because it was a Police Re-Enactment. In actual fact,t he real 15-minute video is kept private by the Police in the Sintra area.
There seems to be no evidence for a crash involving ‘Teresa Fidalgo’, nor can any of those involved be contacted; furthermore, the video is flawed in that the re-enactment left out a lampost which the original crash apparently involved.

I don’t know, if it is a fake. It seems illogical as to why the Sintra police are holding the “Real McCoy” as opposed why we are getting a contrived video? What are they hiding? This video is just as scary! I would think that the hoaxers (if in deed it is a hoax) would at least profit from this venture at the very least.

When I am older I want to study ghosts and spirits. I am a beleiver and u can never change me. I have a ghost named Milo in my house. I anmed him, but I am sure he’s here. Many reasons. My sister heard someone laughing in the closet, I told her it was just my friend, my ghost friend, we named him Milo. It is a fake, a film by David Rebordão. Easily spotted as a fake by the fact that the video “effects” caused when the girl speaks is an effect made on a camera, not by any electro magnetic interferance caused by supposed ghosts. Also the girl “teresa” is an actress and friend of the producer, she is alive and well and currently working on another project.
Basically a film version of the urban myth of “lending the cold girl at the side of the road your coat giving her your coat, you drop her off at home but forget to take your coat back, then you return the next day only to find she was killed in an accident years ago, then you visit her grave and find your coat draped over it.” yawn yawn yawn, it’s olsd but a very good movie all the same, good atmosphere and I like the “Blair Witch” style.

My feeling is that yes, that video is the real Mccoy. In a way it shows me that when you die, that it isn’t necessarily the period at the end of the sentence, that you do go on to another plane. It’s just so unfortunate for all the parties involved, that this tragic event happened. I hope that “Teresa” can find some peace in God. I really feel bad for those nice folks who died in the accident, and the same sentiment goes to them as well.

Well i think that it looks pretty real but i think that people from portugal are saying that that did happen but that there are no ghost and i believe that they should know better than anyone so if they know that they did make it up by some people they should put some pictures of the real Teresa and compare it to the girl in the video.

Come On. There are things that just take faith to believe, but the video is fake. If this accident had occured, there would be police records in 2003 of those two dying in a car accident. The Family would have come forward about the video somewhat, saying whether or not she had those scars on her face when she died. I am christian and believe in spirits on this earth, but be rational. they don’t go around trying to kill people to tell their story. They can’t kill people. They are dead!
Nonetheless, it is an excellently made video that scared the crap out of me when I watched it. He has a few bugs to work out, like the cell phone dissappearing, and the car making no sound of being smashed from impact. Also why did David completely ignore them when they asked him to turn off the camera. Out of a little respect, people dont start filming random people.

You will NEVER be able to capture a whole image of a spirit or a ghost on a video camera. And even if you do capture a ghost image on your video camera, it will be only a couple seconds. This is a known fact….
i figure it is probably fake – girl just to real to be a ghost . I will swear on a bible that i have personally seen about 150 ghosts in my life so far. I have been physically attacked by unseen somethings 3 different times. One slammed me into a bed twice and i couldn’t move for about 30 seconds. I am a blackbelt in 7 different shoalin temple kung fu fighting systems – so whatever it was – it was seriously bad. But in all my experiences , i have never seen anything quite that solid. There are obvious out-of-the-box video effects used when the ‘ghost’ appeared. This is a very good peice of film making. The edits are well done but obvious when you know what to look for. People seem to want to fool themselves into thinking that NO ONE would pick up on this and declare it an outstanding discovery. Life beyond death. The probability that no one in the world is seriously and vigiourously researching the possibility of such events would skip over this.
Why is everyone so keen to believe the most incredible things but are completely unwilling to believe in what is most likely? We have to investigate these things with logic and science and put aside out primative fears and desires to make the universe more fantasitc than it already is, and put aside ALL assumtions about what is real and not real. Otherwise you may fall victim to the greatest cover up artist on earth: yourself.

the same thing happened to me and my wife when we were coming from palm spring we were coming from work like at past midnight on the hwy111 it was a detour it came to the I10 fwy and my wife saw a lady in the middle of the road and i moved the car to the side and when i looked back it was gone aand a couple of months later i went back to go do another job and something was wrong on the freeway so i had to take the same detour again and i saw a woman in the middle of nowhere start walking toward the middle of the street tryin to make me stop, because it was nonsence for someone being in the middle of the dessert in the middle of the night alone in the dark. For me im not sure if she was a ghost or a real person there. im not sure what it was but both my wife and me saw a woman trying to make us stop our car in the middle of the road.

What a scary film this is! I don’t know this is fake or not. But, I am a woman who often see ghosts and talk to them. I have some strange feeling over this film. I have met many ghosts and they all are not scary existence. They never want to frighten people. Ghosts I met are just like ordinally people, most are kind and polite. Why does Teresa need to surprise others? That puzzled me much.
well i can’t tell if ghosts are real because i never saw one myself. but if a ghost ever kills me, i’ll be glad, because i’ll have indesputable evidence of the afterlife before i die anyway.
The vid is a fake! Just watch it closely, and use the Pause function on YouTube. I thougth it was real until I wanted more info and I discovered what others thought. If you watch closely, you can see the video is edited (it jumps) when they take a wrong turn at the town, and then along the way, and then more skips/edits after picking up “Theresa”. The mobile does not vanish, if you watch carefully you see the driver take it down just before picking up “Theresa”, and then after the cameraman uses the phone for the “interference caused by “Theresa”" the driver puts it back on the dash just before the end. The “scar” is a fake, because the camera turns away from “Theresa” and the film is edited (6:00). She can applies it to the far side of her face – away from the camera until the end, and the mobile “reappears”. The accident did not happen because what would they have crashed into – A tree in the middle of the road? The cameraman and the “ghost” would have been safe in the back seat in a head-on collision as they were not travelling more than 60mph. The girl in the front seat drops a few hints like: “I’m tired to see the same roade (sic)” (or perhaps women are always so uptight?
). They were only driving 20km right? How lost can you get in the country (I know, I used to live there and there was ONE main road!). And when the camera looked at the “ghost”, 90% of the time the camera was FINE!
All I can say is: nice try for an amateur film maker, learn from your mistakes and you could be a Spielberg. And don’t lie, cause it could come back and haunt you…
Well, when i first saw this movie it scared me and i stayed thinking about it for sevral days, it is very, very hard for me to determine wether it is real or fake, the video is really convincing, but there are many scorces claiming it is fake, i strongle blieve there are ghosts out there, but none to harm any one, so that is another reason i think it may be fake, also if it were true it probably would have made world headlines. it would be a very interesting subject if it was a true fact but no one seems to know for sure…
Bunch of garbage. For a guy that clearly was holding a camera and for such severity of an accident that they are claiming then why didn’t the camera barely shake when the car flipped??????
Personally, I never heard of any former ghost sitings where they took on actual human flesh. This ghost even brushes the hair out of her eyes. This ghost has hands to open and close car doors easily. Look at how the light shines in her pupils just like a regular human being would look with lights shined in their eyes. The voice in the end sounds exactly like what they do in movies to make it sound scary.

I watched this yesterday afternoon with my friend, we were looking at ghost videos on youtube as we are really interested in that kind of thing when we came across this one. After it had finished I did feel a little creeped out but we both said straight away how fake!
However my friend left a few minutes later and I was left on my own. I then began to feel really scared and I fully took into account what I had just seen. I had to walk round to my nans because I was too frightened to be on my own.
Later that night I watched the video again, this time with my mom and she had the same reaction, “it’s fake”. But I couldn’t help thinking “what if it isn’t?”.
It was all I could think about last night and it has kept springing into my mind today. Fake or real I can’t be sure but either way I am very interested in this video. I am now going to look about it on the interent althought there aren’t many good sources of information.
If I find it is a hoax I would have so many questions. Why make this? Was Teresa a real woman who you based this film on? How did you create the facial effects?
And if I find it is real….Frankly I would be terrified

Hi. This video is very well made indeed but it has several flaws. For instance:
When the girl looks and screams at the guy with the cam he doesn’t even shake a bit, when in a case of a ghost he would be terrified and would lose the grip of the cam;
When the car crashes, you don’t even hear a steering wheels or feel the sensation of the car going out of balance neither the gravity interfering in the image;
At the end of the vid, there are no arms or legs nor any sign of dead or injured people in front of the cam;
Last but no less important, the car was too, too slow for killing someone in a crash like that.
So, my friends, this guy has some talent cause at first he scared me but looking close he has so much to learn that when you see it again it looks almost hilarious unless for the disrespect to the real dead people here: Teresa and her grandmother.
Please, respect the dead, they mean no harm, they only want some help but some don’t know how to ask and when they dispair, they look realy ugly.
Look at this link and you’ll all see what realy are aparitions of ghosts.
Drive safe guys and don’t give a ride to a person who is in the middle of a road in the middle of the night if they are not asking for it!

But i need to say when i first time saw the video was 2 hour past midnight and everyone was sleeping in the house.At the end the video by the girls face i felt something like never before.,I saw also lot of horror films because i love them and lot of ghost video on youtube, but this was different.That was the most scary video i’ve EVER seen.Maybe its fake, maybe not.If my friends will punkd me whenever with something like that,maybe my heart will stop beating.not joke.Serious!

That’s the website of the video makers guys, sorry to break it to you but this video is just a re-enactment of a true story. Police have kept the original version, and blogs that had the video were warned to delete all their content by the law, or have been shut down by the blog hosters, who have been told to shut it down by law. All remaining sites who have managed to sneak the real video are either stopped by now, or shut down, or have become forgotten. Why have the police put the video as classified? It probably contains very scary images (scary images, if they are real, as in not special effects/makeup are not allowed to be viewed, the same with unprofessional, dangerous stunts), and they probably want to have more people (especially tourists) to be able to drive on that road, or even enter Portugal, without having to be afraid.
So:
Yes, Teresa Fidalgo had a fatal accident in 1983
Yes, a person did survive (his real name is not known), but has been kept under close watch from authorities
No, this video is not real, it is a re-enactment, but the real video is much shorter, having stopped at several times
Police claimed this video didn’t exist, even the witnesses claimed this never happened, that it was a normal accident, after 1 week of the accident, but before they were not denying the “Ghost” version of the accident.

This video made by the potugese was definitely scary. When I watched this short film I asked my self, “is this real?”. So I came up with the research. I searched a net but what did I found is just comment and the video of the portugese. Until I search this site and read the comments…One of the comments here that was so interesting and I think people shuold believe was the comment by “joao”. Thank you because of you I finally found the truth. I believe on what did you say “joao”.
This video may very well be fake. I’m sure it is. Teresa’s eyes did reflect light, ghosts don’t do that. Regardless of whether or not you believe in ghosts is irrelevant. They are real. They do not often appear as full body apparitions. To see one is very rare and for those whom have, consider yourselves very lucky. As a film, this was brilliant. It preyed upon the naivity of human nature. Which any great film of this sort is supposed to do. I applaud the effort and result. However, I do need to make it clear that the supernatural is no play-thing. Believe it or not, that is up to you. Maybe those who do not believe will never be bothered. Those who do, are more likely to be blessed by activity. I’ll bid you all farewell now. I need to find a spot to download this video. Fake or not, I love it.

I think it’s hilarious that people are still debating whether this video is real or not. I’m a film student and I can give you my 200% guarantee that this video is fake. I can even recognize the effects and sounds that were used from Soundtrack and Final Cut Pro. Film editing techniques have advanced quite a bit just in the last 5 years, and by today’s standards this isn’t even one of the better fake ghost videos. Videos like this one are on going jokes in the film community, because we know how to make them and how to anonymously post them to various websites. Then we just sit back and laugh at the comments.
