At the point when Technorati interrupted the sign up process, Tino has gathered 1,700 Bloggers together for the photo montage. However, many of those in the first 300 were included without their permission, so there are still vacant spaces available for those who are REALLY interested in joining the community. To pigboom: Yes, the 2000 Bloggers Project can be categorized as a viral link building event. It attracted a lot of bloggers from different countries and of different calibers. Some say it has bordered on becoming a link farm, but because of the 2000 limit, it can not be classified as such. Plus the project requires that members should be bloggers and not just affiliates of sites or link spammers. This creates a feeling of belonging to an elite community of bloggers. It’s like a status symbol for one’s blog to be included in the final list.
